What is the Difference Between a CIT and a Counselor?

September 4, 2012 By amer5231

This is another question that we get all the time:  “Do you have any CIT’s working with my child?”

Answer: Our corporate policy is that we do not work with CIT’s.  I know it would be a great learning experience for them but we want to provide the best and safest experience for your child so we only use counselors.

Ok, so what is the difference?  A CIT is normally a teenager under 18.  By law, anyone who is legally able to work with children alone must be at least 18 years of age.  As such, we only hire staff over the age of 18.

All of our staff are:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Background checked
  • CPR and First Aid certified
  • Has completed our Leadership Training Program

If you have any other question, please feel free to ask.
